
Bio
Chrysanthemum (Chris) Brook Watkins is a trans poet, environmental activist, and author of The Drag Gospel of Queer Jesus. Chris lives in North Florida where she spends as much time as she can on the water and in the swamps; she is a proud board member of Apalachicola Riverkeeper. Chris received their PhD in Poetry with a focus in ecopoetics and environmental writing, poetic forms, and queer literature from Florida State University. They now work as the Academics and Partnerships Coordinator at FSU’s Office of Sustainability (Sustainable Campus) and teach both writing and sustainability courses. Some of Chris's poems and essays can be found in The Academy of American Poets Poem a Day series, in Ecotone, Terrain.org, The Dodge, Plumwood Mountain Journal, Frontier Poetry, Cincinnati Review, and Poetry Magazine among other publications.
